What is the Medieval Society?
The Medieval Society are a group of individuals with an interest in any aspect of the medieval period. Medieval Re-enactment forms a large part of our activities, as our members can choose to participate in any area which interests them, whether it's fighting, costuming, camping, cooking, dancing or shouting! The group is primarily social, and we enjoy a range of activities, including combat training, themed socials, and trips to displays, markets and battles.
We are focusing on the Medieval and early Renaissance periods, but we have recently set up as a viking subgroup as well!
Our training sessions are run as martial arts training sessions, focusing on actual historical sources, taking a HEMA-tic approach in adapting them to work for re-enactors.
